Meriden Adult Education

Registration Requirements

To enroll, students must provide:

  • Proof of Meriden residency (mail, utility bill, etc.)

  • Current photo ID

  • Completion of a CASAS Reading and Math Assessment


Adult Basic Programs (Non-Credit)

Adult Basic Programs are designed to:

  • Prepare students for U.S. Citizenship

  • Help students learn or improve English

  • Improve reading, writing, and math skills

Class Schedule:

  • Morning and evening classes available

  • Offered at various locations

Eligibility:

  • Must be 17 years or older

  • Must not be enrolled in any high school


High School Credit Diploma Program (HSCDP)

To enroll, students must provide:

  • Official signed transcript

  • Official withdrawal form (if transferring)

  • Parental consent form (for students under 18)

  • Signed transfer form from MPS to MAE

This program allows students to complete required high school credits and earn a Meriden Public Schools diploma.

Eligibility:

  • Must be 17 years or older

  • Must not be enrolled in any high school


GED® Program

The GED® Program offers non-credit preparation classes to help students pass the GED® test and earn a State of Connecticut High School Equivalency Diploma.

  • English as a Second Language (ESL)

  • Citizenship Preparation

  • Diploma Programs (HSCDP / GED®)
